AsbestosRegister.com was launched on 30 March 2001 and already has several thousand asbestos registers for specific properties. These have been supplied by property owners and managers from both the private and public sector. This is a great step towards our five year goal of establishing a national register of asbestos in buildings for the benefit of all.
In the interim, our buildings profile database provides an indication of the likely asbestos materials present in buildings of various types and ages. This is available to all users in the event that no site specific register has yet been provided by the owner of the property in question.
In accordance with our privacy policy, we do not publicise the names of property owners who place their asbestos registers on our site except to people who register as users. Rather, these property owners publicise the use of our site to their own staff as well as their external property managers and maintenance contractors.
